Rehab Treatment for my brother Chris

If you know me well, you know that my older brother, Chris, has struggled with addiction for the past 11 years (since he was 15).  Chris has always had an addictive personality since he was a kid. He went through phases of needing immense numbers of toy cars, toy wrestlers, guitars and then turning to drugs. His battle with addiction began when he was offered prescription drugs and has since turned to meth. Through out these past 11 years, he has never been serious about getting clean until this past year when he overdosed on Fentanyl, where he was brought to the hospital dead, revived and realized exactly how much his addiction is effecting his life, my mom's life and my life. 

My brother also suffers from severe anxiety and depression due to extreme traumas he has suffered from childhood through adulthood. 

He has been accepted into a rehab facility in Calgary, AB called Dream House Calgary, which is a 7 week program for the cost of $1200. Although this number might seem small to some, my mom is in a poor financial situation, and I am a student so coming up with this money on our own is not easy. The reason the GoFundMe is set to $1500, is due to the fees we need to pay GoFundMe for using their platform. 

He is scheduled to enter detox on Feb 13, where he will stay for 7 days, and then he will be admitted to the rehab program in Calgary on Feb 19. 

ANY amount of money will help, as well as knowledge of other resources for addicts, communities in Calgary that he can be involved in to help with his recovery, and/or success stories of you or a loved one overcoming addiction. 

Honestly, creating this GoFundMe makes me feel extremely vulnerable and judged because I know the stigma that surrounds addiction, however I am hoping there are some people in our lives who see addiction as the horrible mental illness it is. I want my brother back.
