Sacha is my little sister. She was first diagnosed with bipolar disorder when she was eighteen, thirteen years ago. She started using substances while in a manic state and since then it has become a debilitating and life-threatening problem.
Over the past year, the family made the difficult decision to separate Sacha from our mother as her addictions and unstable mental health was impacting our mother's well being and safety. This has broken my mother's heart and left Sacha to work through the public system, it is not working.
Sacha is now in the hospital being treated for her most recent psychotic episode, which left her homeless and incoherent. She was missing for eighteen days before police were able to locate her.
We want Sacha to move forward from this difficult chapter and show the world what a wonderful, intelligent, kind and empathetic person she is. Sacha really needs a long term comprehensive treatment plan to address her mental health and addictions.
Please consider donating to help us make that a reality for her. She will likely be kept in the hospital for at least two weeks, so we are hoping we can raise the funds in time to transition her directly to rehab.
