One Last Family Trip

Hello, My Name Is Dustin Petroff.  My grandma was recently diagnosed with a very fast spreading cancer that was found on her lung as well as on her brain. She managed to go through successful brain surgery. Unfortunately, in the weeks to follow the cancerous tumor on her lung has spread to both lungs, as well as behind her sternum and filling a large portion of her chest cavity. The doctors made it clear that we need to spend as much time together as possible in the upcoming months. 

Anyone who knows Jackie can tell you that she has one of the kindest hearted, selfless personalities to have blessed this world. She has devoted her life to helping kids through school. Starting with myself in elementary as a teacher’s aide and working her way up.  She had been working as a special needs teacher helper for the past 8 years at the high school in the small town of Squamish. However, it wasn't a job for her. She treats every student as she would her own grandchild; with love and respect and the gentle teaching hand of a grandmother. She would even go as far as giving up her own time after "work" to spend with a few of her students, inviting them to her home or spending time with their families. She has done so much for myself and everyone else. I think it’s time we try and do something for her.

This brings me to what I am raising the money for.   My grandma through her many years has never really left the country. I set my goal at $2400 to help send her and my grandpa on what could be their first and last vacation together. While $2400 is my goal the sky is the limit. The more money I am able to raise for them the better I can make their trip all around. My mom, Brother and I will also be joining the trip however we will cover our own costs. Please help me make this family vacation possible, and give her back the love that she so generously gives every day.
