Hi, my name is Tamya and I’m raising money for Regi’s mother Kesha. Kesha is a single mother of 3 with her youngest still being in high school. She has been in the ICU with Regi since August 10th after Regi flew to Colorado from New York in respiratory failure. Regi has been fighting covid, and a long list of infections in the lungs ever since. On August 30th Regis heart stopped beating right in front of Kesha and the doctors had to perform emergency surgery to put Regi on ecmo. ECMO replaces the function of the lungs and oxygenates the blood. This machine has to be changed and adjusted frequently. Regi is also ventilated indefinitely. This requires around the clock care and 1 on 1 ecmo nurses who only work with Regi for 12 hour periods, and ecmo monitors who are constantly keeping the machine in good shape. Kesha has never left Regis side. She’s slept in the hospital for over 60 days and has made the ICU her new home. She hasn’t been able to work or support her daughter through her senior year of Highschool. Family and friends have stepped in to assist her in every way possible but with your help, Kesha won’t have to worry about paying her own bills and taking care of her family, or medical bills for Regis extensive care.
Regi graduated from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City June of 2023 with a focus in Musical Theatre. Regi has worked tirelessly to perfect their craft and is talented beyond measure. To protect Regi’s vocal chords, Kesha decided to have Regi’s ventilator changed to a tracheotomy. This is less damaging on the tissue around the vocal chords. Regi has also been heavily sedated to protect their body from excessive strain. This has limited communication from writing and signing, to no communication at all. Although we don’t know when Regi will be released, we do know that Regi will have to for go extensive physical therapy and rehabilitation. We want to see Regi on a stage again!! Regi has been a son, brother, grandson, nephew, friend, and confidant to an endless amount of people. The impact Regi has had on our lives will never be replaced. Regi has stayed strong and continued to fight despite many bumps in the road. My hope is to make this long road ahead as smooth as possible for not just Regi but Ms Kesha and her family. Thank you in advance.
