Regina’s Medical Crisis
Donation protected
On Thursday, December 14 my sister Regina Clifton went to the hospital with flu like symptoms. After arriving her heart rate and blood pressure was abnormally high. The doctors began a series of test to investigate the root cause. She stayed in ICU for several days with her heart rate in the 150s. There were scans, tests and teams of doctors accessing the situation.
After many days her symptoms were found to be rooted in having an infected colon. The doctors felt that time and antibiotics would heal the colon. Regina had an exercise routine of walking 15 to 20 miles a week. Working out and eating a balanced diet had become a lifestyle. No sodas and a gallon of water per day was the "norm". After a couple of weeks the doctors were concerned. A colonoscopy on Wednesday, January 10....27 days after entering the hospital...revealed a very infected large intestine.
It was determined her large intestine needed to be completely removed. On Thursday, January 11 Regina went into surgery. After 3.5 hours the doctor met with us. Regina was not strong enough to finish the surgery. They put her in a sleep induced coma to allow her body to rest. On Friday, January 12 they finished the surgery successfully.
Regina is now in the ICU recovering. She has been in the hospital 30 days. To compound matters our father is having hip replacement surgery this month that cannot be delayed.
Regina works full time as a cosmetologist. She has been off work for 1 month during the busy season of the year. Additionally, her surgeries and hospital time has been extensive.
If 500 people gave $100, we would reach our goal. Any amount is appreciated! Most of all we have coveted and are extremely grateful for your love, prayers and support. All donations you give will go to help Regina’s hospital expenses and extended time of healing and recovery. Continued prayers are very appreciated.
