Hi, my name is Regina. We just recently became homeless. By we, I mean me, my husband, and my service dog. We were staying with my brother, who has mental health issues. He got mad because I couldn't take my dog to my physical therapy appointment (she's not allowed there) and he kicked us out. He threatened to get rid of her if I left her there, so my husband had to miss work and take her to our storage building. The storage building doesn't have AC, so they had to sit in this hot heat all day long. When I got back from my physical therapy appointment, he had locked us out and wouldn't let us back in.

So now we're homeless with nowhere to go. My husband works at Family Dollar Store and I draw SSI. I used my SSI check for a week at the motel. Then we reached out to some friends and churches for another week in the room. Sadly, that all ended this morning at 10 am. We're now back out in this horrible heat with nowhere else to go.
