Regina Weckmann Kincheloe’s Cancer Journey
Donation protected
As many of you know, our dear friend Regina has recently received some shocking news that she has Multiple Myeloma. A cancer that starts in the blood and then spreads to the bone marrow. Regina and Jeff have received devastating news that it has spread to multiple areas within her body. Yesterday Regina learned that she is at stage 2 of 3 and her bone marrow is at 80% cancer which is quite high. Her treatment plan that starts next week will be a combination of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and anti inflammatory drugs that will be used for 4-6 months or longer if needed to kill and shrink the cancer. The next step will then be a Stem Cell Transfer which will require complete isolation for weeks while staying in the hospital. Once the Stem Cell Transfer is considered a success, she will need monthly treatments to keep the cancer in remission. Overall treatment will approximately be 10-12 months and will only be considered remission as Multiple Myeloma is not curable.
Regina and Jeff will have a long road ahead of them with travel, treatments and mounting medical expenses. Regina has been a hairdresser within her community for 31 years. To know her is to know the true meaning of friendship, love, loyalty and laughter. Her infectious sense of humor has touched so many of us over the years. Regina had to step away from work in February and Jeff will need an unknown amount of time off from his job to be by her side during their journey. I know so many of us want to be there for both of them during this difficult time. All donations will go directly to Regina for her medical expenses. Thank you for your generosity, support, and love for Regina and Jeff.
