Regina Riot to Team Canada
Donation protected
Nine Regina Riot players have cracked the Football Canada roster and couldn’t be more excited to represent their country in Vantaa, Finland this August. To represent one’s country, in the sport they love is a dream come true to these athletes. This is the highest level of play that women’s football will see in the near future. It would be ideal for these athletes to focus solely on football, however, this venture doesn’t come for free. In order to participate on Team Canada, each athlete is asked to pay $4000. This covers the cost of airfare, accommodations, food and fees for two weeks of training camp and one week of competing for the gold medal.
Unfortunately, this quick turn around of selection to world championship is due in part to the pandemic and leaves the players with a substantial cost and little time to fundraise.
This plays a heavy burden on many, if not all of the players as they are currently in season and miss three weeks of work to participate in the IFAF Football World Championships.
If you believe in sport, if you believe in football, and if you believe in women, this is the cause to support!
Please note! If you wish to donate to a certain player, please reach out to that individual.
