As some of you may know me and my family experienced a very traumatizing situation resulting in an unfortunate car accident. Just before New Year’s, December 31, 2018, Our nephew, John Parker, or Eli, suffered from a severe case of sleep apnea. However at the time we did not know, all we saw was a purple baby unable to breathe nor was he responsive. Thinking he may have choked on something, I proceeded to do CPR and our baby Eli was still on responsive. In a panic, we all ran to the car and rush to the hospital as quick as we can. Next thing you know, we are hit from the side of our vehicle and all 6 of us were rushed to Inova Fairfax Hospital. Me and my brother happen to be in critical condition however, everyone else had minor injuries. Also, that is when baby Eli was diagnosed with sleep apnea. I suffered from a acetubular fracture & a broken finger. Whereas Regi suffered from a nasal bone fracture, leg wound, and lastly a major concussion in which he is incapacitated due to his injuries. My brother has a hard time remembering who he is, who his family was, And little things for example walking, using a phone, and even holding a conversation. If you know my brother, you’d know how much he sheds light upon anyone in everywhere he goes. From his witty jokes, his demeanor, and of course his charm.
By the grace of God everyone else in the accident is still recovering and we are capable of moving forward mentally together as a family stronger and better than before. My father, my mother, my sister, and myself try our best to Remind Regi how much of an amazing person he is every single day. As far as his recovery, some days are better than others but giving up is never an option. We’ve tried asking him about his medical insurance, his living expenses, etc but he just has no recollection of anything. To include, the government being shut down has affected his job tremendously so he is not able to work even if he was capable of working.
The recovering journey of me and my family has been an emotional roller coaster but knowing we were Guarded by God’s angels, it has brought our family closer and together in the first time in years and I am most thankful for that. This go fund me account has been set up with the help of Tim and his wife Sue. They are good friends of Regi & since the accident they have reached out everyday to help our family anyway possible. Any kind of donation, no matter what the size, would make a huge difference for my brother Regi and his road to recovery.
Thank you.
