Regie’s busted arm fund

I’m Regie Hamm and I recently broke my arm. Now, I know broken arms aren’t that big a deal in the scheme of things. But I am the full time care giver for my 19-year-old daughter, Isabella.

She has a condition called “Angelman Syndrome” and requires 24-hour care, including getting her dressed, taking her to the bathroom, bathing her, feeding her, redirecting her and keeping her from self harm.

Her caregiving is comprehensive and requires strength and agility. She already weighs more than her mother and is stronger than her in some scenarios.

This presents a myriad of problems.

So, needless to say, this recent arm break has presented us with some challenges.

Our next few weeks are going to be about lining up outside care giving, shifting my wife’s schedule around and overall added stress to the family.

This means new and unexpected expenses.

So many people have reached out to ask how they could help. So we decided that doing this was the easiest way to welcome help.

The caregiving help we need will have to come from professionals.

If you feel the inclination to pitch in for us, this is our preferred method.
