This is Reginald S Harrell Jr, he is my father in law. For the last two years he has been battling Cancer. It started as a type of skin cancer but a few months back it mutated into Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma aka aggressive T-Cell lymphoma, It is rare, and because it is rare they did not realize that it had mutated right away, giving it time to progressively get worse. In the past few months his battle has gone downhill and taken a turn for the worst. He was out on medical leave for as long as he could be. He used up all of his sick days and paid time off, and now after months of aggressive chemotherapy, his chemo has stopped working and he is in desperate need of a bone marrow transplant.
The Doctors said if he cannot get the treatment and he continues at this rate he has at best 2 to 3 years to live, possibly less. If he can get the bone marrow and a new chemotherapy he has a much higher chance of beating this altogether and going into remission, but the longer he waits the lower his chance of survival could be. This is a type of blood cancer and ultimately he needs this bone marrow treatment to live. He has the most aggressive type there is and he is running out of time. He has been in and out of the hospital for days and weeks, getting hospitalized on and off over and over. His overall health has declined and he has lost a lot of weight. He can no longer stand for long periods of time for his lymph nodes swell up. He has had issues with baseball sized swollen lymph nodes in his neck, armpit and upper thigh, plus others all over the rest of his body.
We are raising the money to help cover his cost of living and medical bills, He will be out of work and in need of daily personal care for at least three months following his treatment. We do not know exactly how much he will need to cover all of the expenses but this amount should cover roughly three to four months for him. He will need to stay in the hospital following the procedure until they know he is well enough to go home. This time frame varies per person. He will then need around the clock care for a few months following. We have a small family and not much to offer him. We have all come together to try to give him what he needs to beat this but we fall short of that financially. We are asking anyone who can give, even if it's just $1 to please donate to save his life.
He is an amazing man who works hard and takes care of his business. He is kind hearted and always thinks of others. He's been with his job for 15 years but they have done all they can at this point. He also has a 10 year old son, Marcus, who is praying his father lives to see him finish growing up and become a man. My husband and I had a baby girl last year and he cried at the thought of not getting to watch her or his youngest son grow up. He is a very hands on parent and grandparent. This man deserves this. Please we need all the help we can get.
Also if anyone knows of any good home health aid services in the Cleveland area or any programs or other means of help please let us know. From the Harrell family we thank anyone who donates and we thank those of you who keep him in your prayers.
Below are some photos of him before and after ...
