Hi my name is Hollie, my beautiful Reggie who’s only 3 has been fighting Bacterial Meningitis and has now fallen ill with pneumonia on top of everything else. On Wednesday the 5th November Reggie fell ill, very lethargic, being sick, not being able to stand. The vets told us he had eaten an in-toxin, he then continued to go worse throughout Wednesday night so we took him to a night hospital where they continued to treat him for something he had eaten, not until throughout the night did I know something wasn’t right, he was hyperventilating throughout the night, and suddenly lost the use of his front legs. From this moment I wasn’t waiting any longer and I demanded he got referred to a hospital, where we took him to on the Thursday lunch time where we got told he needed an MRI ASAP. The vet was wonderful and told us before he even had the scan that she thinks it could be meningitis, however she said there wouldn’t be a chance it would be bacterial as it is such a rare case. Just Reggie’s luck he turned out to have Bacterial Meningitis, he has now been fighting this since Thursday 6th November. He unfortunately fell ill on Tuesday 11th with pneumonia on top of everything else, on Wednesday 12th the vets told us to make a decision as his temperature got to 41 degrees and he was going to give him self a heart attack. I told them to get it down which they did and for us to give him time which over time he has managed to calm him self down back to a normal temperature, he is now breathing on his own and we have to pray he maintains this so we can get our boy home. Our vet bill is already at £10,000 our insurance refused to pay due to the rarity of the case, we have been estimated to pay currently £17,000 to save our boy. Please help us bring our Reggie home he’s only 3 years old.
