Hello My name is Regan, I am 13 years old and I am raising this money to take part on an incredible 2 week expedition in South Africa 2026.

I will be exploring beyond the tourist trails and contribute to vital project work on this immersive expedition in South Africa.

I'm going to be taking part in some really exciting animal conservation projects, particularly around giraffes and possible rhino's. We'll be contributing to research, collecting data around markings of the giraffes and relevance to age and size of the creatures and explore how they live and move within their groups (a tower of giraffes!) Most excitingly, we'll be analysing their poop to learn more about their feeding habits, diet and overall health.

I will also work on vital community projects and get to know the communities with in the tribes and work with local villagers, who will teach me some traditional skills. I'm really looking forward to visiting an orphanage, meeting some of the local children and sharing some of my football tricks!

This expedition is organised by a company called AWT- Africa Wild Trials.

Africa Wild Trials is a global social enterprise that allow young people to connect you with the real world and other cultures. The work funded by Africa Wild Trials creates a lasting impact for many generations. Helping countries where poverty affects a high percentage of their nation. For example they've set up permanent volunteer camps in Peru, Ecuador, Kenya, Cambodia and Borneo. The money raised, funds all of the travel expenses, food, drink and camp accommodation as well as towards the continued costs that are needed for resources, building materials, building projects, farming projects, animal welfare projects and the employment of permanent staff within the local communities such as teachers, chefs, medical staff ect. They have such an amazing impact on the families and continued generations to come within the communities.

During the 2 weeks I spend in Africa, I will support a team of young volunteers like myself from different schools all over the UK.

I am very passionate and extremely committed to taking on the challenging task of raising £2500!

The reason I want to be apart of this amazing cause, is to help out our world and high percentage poverty communities. I want to be apart of something meaningful that will have a positive impact for the humans in our world for generations to come. I am excited to meet and build relationships with new people, from cultures that are completly different to our own. To experience things that are unknown to me and understand more about our world.

From a young age I've always had a huge interest the great out doors. As well as a love for all animals, big, small, fluffy, creepy or ugly and passion for other cultures unlike my own and exploring new foods.

This expedition will allow me to futher develop my current values and skills and build upon my confidence, compassion, resilience, respect, empathy and leadership skills.

I am am so excited for this challenge and greatful for any support you can give me to be apart of this incredible opportunity.

Due to being under 16, I am unable to have the funds deposited to myself. For this reason the funds will be deposited to my Mum, Jodi Jeffs-Budd. She fully supports my expedition and cheerleads my efforts fundraising. She will be using the funds to pay for the expedition costs directly to camps international.
