Harry Tankoos Books resumes publishing with Regan Good's second collection, The Needle. All donors will receive a copy of The Needle on publication, as well as a copy of her first book, The Atlantic House, also Harry Tankoos Books.
The Atlantic House, published in 2011, received a starred review in Publishers Weekly. The reviewer wrote: “The [book’s] dominant passages belong to a nearly timeless and expressively resonant realm. Good shows that a poet can be absolutely Romantic and remain absolutely contemporary.”
Poetry critic Stephanie Burt said of the book: “The Atlantic House is a book that is full of quite traditional symbols…symbols for an unapologetically rich and capital “R” Romantic inward emotional life—a life that is represented quite often in traditional pentameters. The book is always engaging [as] Good grapples with her revulsions and attractions and her desire to represent her fear of death. It makes me want to see what she does next. She has a sense of pentameter and a sense of image and a sense of ‘experiment’ that almost never go together.”
