Regaining my Independence after medical issues

The History

Hello, my name is Heiner and in the last decade, I battled Trigeminal Neuralgia caused by Multiple Sclerosis.

The MS itself does not cause me any issues so far beyond that, but the TGN is one of the most painful conditions known to men, even the strongest conventional Painkillers doing little to alleviate it. Luckily more specific medicine and treatment (neurosurgery) are available once it is known what is going on.

I am doing well on this front now. However, I did not get much done during that time.

I did consider leaving Germany before TGN bothered me. For the cost of living alone initially, but the more I learned the more I liked another place as well as after suffering TGN for that long, especially given my extremely abusive family, everyone trying to take care of me rather than letting me live my life has also become quite oppressive.

The Presence and Future

So what now?

Now I am in Paraguay. And I love it here. My savings and some private support let me get here, buy some rudimentary furniture and household appliances and live here for the past month and a half.

And while I still sleep on the ground, haven't gotten a bed yet, that's all fine and can come with time, I can code, and while it may take a while to regularly get enough hours to live from I should be able to maintain myself. The cost of living is low here (though furniture, appliances and electronics cost about the same).

However, some issues with my old apartment back in Germany may take a bunch of money to fix I will owe my former Landlord (could be something between 1500 and 5000, they are still tabulating that, I could then take care of some of the issues myself instead of hiring expensive contractors but I am not there anymore so...), and sending my property after me also is not cheap. I do not have any issue legally staying here, however getting my cedula - local papers - would make it a lot easier and more convenient to do so, for instance without it I can not open an account at the banks here - which by itself makes a lot of other things more difficult. That would run me about another 6000€ to deal with.
