Lucely was removed from the U.S. over the holidays.

Her husband, Manuel, recounts that their two kids were asking for their mother, who hadn’t picked them up on time. After finding her again, they learned that she’d been kept in a freezing room for three days and mistreated before being sent to a country where some of her family reside.

Manuel has been out of work due to heart issues and is waiting for the go-ahead to get important surgery done for his heart. His wife was the only one working in the meantime. Their children have been pulled out of school to be with their mother while they figure out their situation. As it stands, the family will have trouble keeping their home, one they've had for only a few years.
