For my birthday, I would appreciate your support in helping me rebuild my high school, my alma mater - Anglican Grammar School, Irun/Ogbagi, Ondo State, Nigeria.
I give glory to God almighty who has helped me this far. In January 1973, I was to go to secondary school, but suddenly my father died on 3rd of January that year. I had no option but to go to modern school. As I was finishing modern school, a new secondary school was formed - Irun Ogbagi Anglican Grammar School located between Irun Akoko and Ogbagi Akoko.
The school had to start in the old building of modern school while the new school was being built in 1975. The classes, the dormitories, the halls and principal accommodation were all newly constructed. I graduated there in 1980 and was retained with few colleagues to teach in the school.
41 years after graduating from there, the school structure has deteriorated. The classrooms are drenched whenever it rains, all windows are damaged. Desks and chairs are damaged. No laboratories for science students. This school prepared me for who I am today.
It is unpleasant to see handful of the pupils studying in the condition in which they do at present.
Thanks to previous donations, we have been able to refurbish part of the building. Further donations will help complete what has already been started.
The project has been budgeted at approximately £20,000 to rebuild and renovate the dilapidated structures of this school. So as to bring some comfort and dignity to the children; due to lack of other option to keep attending this school despite its present condition.
Anything you can give is welcome, no amount is too little.
Thank you in anticipation of your donations.
