Refugio "Ref" Mejia

Hello, my name is Andrea and I am creating this Go Fund Me on behalf of one my best friends, Charlotte.

With a heavy heart and profound sadness, it is with great regret that I convey the unexpected passing of my dear friend, Ref Mejia, on Saturday, January 27th, 2024. Ref, at the age of 44, left us far too soon, and the sudden void he has left behind is indescribably painful. His infectious laughter, heart of gold, and the warmth he brought into our lives will forever be etched in our memories.

In this moment of grief, we are rallying together to support his beloved fiancée, Charlotte, who introduced me to the wonderful soul that was Ref. Their love story, born unexpectedly at Volutone, is a testament to the unpredictable beauty life can offer. Charlotte, now facing the daunting task of navigating life without her partner, inspired me to create this GoFundMe page. My intention is to assist her with any and all associated costs that arise from the sudden loss of Ref.

I implore the entire A/V community and any others who knew Ref to join hands and demonstrate your solidarity for these members of our community. Ref was the kind of person who would willingly give you "the shirt off his back," and now, in his absence, we aim to offer our support to those he cherished the most.

Ref's memory will live on not only through Charlotte, but his two children, Ricky and Serenity, as well as his parents, two sisters, and one brother. Together, let us honor Ref's memory and lend our support to his family as they navigate this difficult journey of loss.
