Refugees from Gaza: a new life in the Bay Area
Hailing from the vibrant city of Gaza, we are a family of four—husband, wife, and our two delightful children.
Our story is one of survival and hope as we recently evacuated from the war-torn Gaza Strip, leaving behind the remnants of our bombed home and workplaces. Our journey has brought us to temporary shelter at my husband's aunt's place 2 weeks ago. However, as we strive to rebuild our lives from the rubble of our past, we find ourselves facing financial hurdles and the need for more stable housing for our children.
Any help you can offer would be immensely appreciated as we work towards establishing a secure environment for our family. In addition to financing our housing rental needs, we are also in desperate need of employment opportunities. In Gaza, we worked as a lecturer in the information technology department, and served as a general manager for a leading hospital. The destruction of our workplaces has left us in need of a fresh start, and we bring a wealth of experience and a strong work ethic, eager to contribute to our new community. Our two children, aged 3 and 7, add an extra layer of urgency to our situation. We are determined to get them enrolled in school as swiftly as possible, providing them with the stability and routine they deserve during these uncertain times.
Our journey is one marked by the resilience of the human spirit, the devastation of war, and the determination to rise from the rubble. We are hopeful we can overcome the challenges ahead and build a new life for our children filled with stability, opportunity, and hope.
