REFUGEE DAUGHTER NEEDS MEDICAL HELP
0% complete
$2,880 raised of
35 donations
This is Metok, (the Tibetan word for Daisy) she is 8 months old. Metok has been diagnosed with an enlarged heart primary (pulmonary hypertension).
She is in Imphal, Manipur, eastern India where paediatric specialist help is not available
Funds raised will be spent to pay for urgent travel for surgical treatment at AIMS Hospital in Delhi.
Her parents must fly her to Delhi with oxygen support.
Her father, Jamyang Karma Samten is a Tibetan refugee living in India.
He survived being shot at by the Chinese border police while escaping from Tibet. A hero of the notorious Nangpala shooting, Jamyang courageously told his story in my award-winning BBC commissioned film TIBET MURDER IN THE SNOW
Life for Tibetan refugees in India is very difficult. Without access to a good public health system, Metok's young parents need help for their baby girl.
Jamyang and his wife Chini, urgently need donations for life saving medical intervention.
Every dollar helps.
