Hello, my name is Mikeyah Williams, and I created this GoFundMe for my loving sister Denetra Hall who has been battling a horrific injury that has caused her and our family tremendous stress over past 11 years or more. I'll elaborate as brief as I can without leaving out the severity of the whole situation. In Denetra's own words, she went to attend a dentist appointment to get a teeth cleaning in January 2012. She was then told by the Dentist that she needed to have her wisdom tooth pulled and mind you she is 3mths pregnant. Not fully aware of what should and shouldn't be done by a dentist, she allowed the dentist to extract her tooth and heard a crack. She told to contact her if she is in any pain and sent her home. She returns to allow her to extract the rest of the broken tooth. She soon learned that her left jaw was broken, and she could no longer open her mouth. She was unable to eat for months which turned into almost 2 years, and caused her to lose over 60 lbs. in 3 to 4 weeks. The only way to save her and get her the proper nutrients was to insert a feeding tube in which she received in 2014 and was told she wouldn't' live without it. Because of the broken jaw, damage scar tissue, and nerves she also lost her vision temporarily and hearing, and had multiple infections. She also had to have a tube placed in her ear. Since 2012, this injury Denetra has experience numerous of sleepless and painful days and nights. She suffers from Fatigue, Anxiety, Stress, Headaches, etc., and the fact that she now has to wear a medical bracelet so if she is a needs to be respirated they would know that they can't go through her mouth. As of today, Denetra has seen over 500 Doctors, Specialist, etc. She has found help in a couple of places like John-Hopkins, and NIH in which she was referred to the Mayo Clinic. Hopefully this will be the place that will successfully give her sight back and the next surgery for the relief from the pain and to fix her jaw. Again, all of these events has led up to Denetra needing the Refractive Lens Exchange Eye Surgery which cost over $12K.
