My name is Crystal Sain and I need your help. I am raising funds in order to afford a once in a lifetime opportunity to train, learn, and compete in an elite high performance 5 day residential program with USA National/Olympic coaches and players.
I have began playing rugby in college at Appalachian State University for Doc Muir where I first developed a passion and respect for the game. After college I moved to San Diego, California where for the first time I was exposed to elite level rugby and was fortunate to play and win a National Championship under Coach Richie Walker. After several seasons with the Surfers I moved back to North Carolina and took a few seasons off from rugby completely until this last year.
I am fortunate and blessed to now be playing for Charlotte Rugby Club. I made my first reapperance in to rugby in the team's last matrix match for the fall where I played roughly 10 minutes, managed to score a try and then severely break my pinky finger. Luckily I had several weeks off between our spring season to recover from surgery where 3 permanent screws were used to reinforce my broken digit. This spring season I have battled alongside my team and have worked to get my feet back underneath me as we begin to make a run towards a D2 National Championship.
This season has had it's ups and downs and I couldn't be more proud of my club. Together we have worked to improve our game both as a team and individually. This opportunity to go to Colorado and train for 5 days under National Team Head Coaches couldn't mean more to me. Regardless of what happens, I am excited to represent Charlotte and bring back more knowledge and skill to my club. Please help me along this journey to the next level. The price of camp is $900 and on top of that I will need a plane ticket and have to take 5 days off of work.
Every little bit helps and thank you in advance for not only your financial supoort but for your words of encouragement, beleif in me, and for continually pushing me to be the best athelete, trainer, and human being I can.
