Refill Not Landfill
My name is Hannah, and I'm doing a mitzvah project (as part of my bat mitzvah). I'm raising money and awareness to help maintain our environment.
I realize that there are so many issues to be addressed that I can't possibly solve them all, but at least I can do my part.
One quote that really caught my attention as part of my bat mitzvah study is, "It is not up to you to complete the work, but you are not at liberty to abstain from it." (Talmud Avot 2:21)
For my Mitzvah project, I plan to speak to groups of children about the importance of using our voices to raise awareness to change behaviors. I am specifically targeting the use of single-use water bottles.
As an avid soccer player, I see so many plastic single-use bottles littering the field after games and practices. The solution is simple- use a re-fillable bottle. What if the push to use these reusable bottles could come from kids? I want to inspire kids to lead the change and try to raise awareness. To do this, I will visit several elementary schools to speak on behalf of our environment and what kids can do to take the lead in their own homes and communities.
As part of my presentation, I'd like to give away reusable bottles to kids that might not already have their own. Your donation to my gofundme page would go toward the purchase of those bottles. If I can inspire other kids to speak out about environmental issues and they inspire other kids, just imagine the impact on the environment we can have!
Please support my efforts with a donation or even with a simple change to your own behavior by taking the time use a refillable water bottle instead of a disposable one when you have the chance or raising more awareness for others around you.
No donation or act is too small.
I thank you for whatever support you can give.
