Hi everyone-
Most importantly Mom (Sherry) Dad (Mike) & Rosie made it through the storm in Ft. Myers, Florida. They rode it out at home with three elderly neighbors that live next door. As of Monday, October 3 they are on day 6 without drinkable running public water and electric. Dad has a generator that is able to run a few things in the house and some fans.
This is one of the most catastrophic hurricanes to hit Florida. The storm lasted 9 hours with 150mph wind gusts in Ft. Myers. They were in the eye wall for about 3 hours- mix that with high tide at 6pm the storm surge was 12-18 feet. To put it into perspective there house is 10 feet above sea level and about 8 miles away from the beach.
They lost both cars due to flooding- the front street and driveway had 4 feet of water which is where Dad’s truck was parked. They had 2.5 feet of water in the garage where moms car was. My husband and I were able to drive in a rental car from Miami on Sunday so they at least has a rental until the end of the month. Water began coming into the house at 6pm through the front and back doors. They had 3/4” of water in the house.
They have a concrete tile roof that was damaged. Throughout the storm they could hear tiles coming off and large debris hitting the roof.
They have flood, home owners and auto insurance and claims have been filed but they have about $100K in loss and $25K in deductibles. As most of you know my parents are independent contractor real estate agents in Ft. Myers and there is not going to be much of a market for a while. They are not salaried employees so they will be living on savings until the market comes back. There sales market area is Lee and Collier County which is one of the heaviest hit areas.
Anything you can donate to help them with the deductibles will be greatly appreciated. They are needing new cars, roof, refrigerator and possible dry wall replaced in the house. They have plenty of gas, ice and food at this time it’s just the impending insurance expenses and repairs.

Ashley Reeves (daughter to Mike & Sherry Reeves) I live in Bellevue, Kentucky and all funds raised will be going to Mike & Sherrys insurance deductibles, repairing the house and replacing what they lost in the garage.
