Hi, my name is Cheryl Kunze and the picture you see is Sawyer Paul VandeMale he is 5 months old. Since birth 11/22/2022 he has been in and out of the hospital when born he was diagnosed with a rare birth defect called imperforated anus, which can be repaired with surgery. He spent 1 week in the hospital, as they were finding out more complications, his spine has some abnormalities, as well as his discs were fused together, and his tailbone didn't fully develop. His parents Kyle & Ashley took him for his regularly scheduled surgery for the birth defect when they were putting the tube down his throat for surgery they found his vocal cords were fused together as well, an emergency trach was done at that time. Sawyer also has a brother Leroy 11 years old that misses him and his family, Leroy is in Cottonwood staying with family friends and going to school trying to be strong for his family. Sawyer's family has endured loss of wages, and extra medical costs. Sawyer will be at Banner Children's Hospital for a while with Ashley not working to be by young Sawyer's side, and Kyle barely working due to wanting to be there with his child, we are asking for help from you, as well as prayers for this wonderful family.
