My name is Reem, a 23-year-old young woman, enduring the suffering of war alongside my family of 10 members—all children. We lost our beloved father, who always sacrificed for us and provided a life of comfort. My father was martyred, and with him, my 20-year-old brother Muhammad—the kind and gentle young man—was also martyred.

The suffering didn’t end there. Our home was completely destroyed. Nothing remains—not even the smallest memory. The room that once brought us together is gone. The dining table where we shared joyful meals is no more. The laughter and life have vanished, and the war continues to rage like fire.

My mother is doing everything she can to provide us with life, but we have no shelter to gather under. We live the bitterness of hunger and soaring prices. As for me, I study medicine. My father raised me to love this path and was eagerly awaiting my graduation to celebrate me as a skilled doctor, standing proudly at the front of the crowd.

But this cursed war has killed that dream. Still, I promise you, my dear father, I will continue the path in your honor. I will support my family and my city that needs me. Every bit of help you offer to me and my family brings joy to our hearts, eases the heavy burdens of war, and helps me continue my education.
