Reedo's Recovery

A week ago, my cousin Reed was the victim of a terrible car accident. He was medflighted to Dartmouth-Hitchcock in critical condition. His doctors were not optimistic. His brain was very badly damaged and he wasn't expected to survive.
But our Reedo is so strong, he's fighting so hard and the doctors now think he'll eventually recover! We are so unimaginably grateful for the ICU staff and everyone's support. It looks like we get to keep him!
Reed's mom Pammy is taking unpaid leave from work to spend every day with him. She lives 2.5hrs from the hospital, but needs to go home each night for her 10yo daughter at home. Driving 5hrs a day is expensive and we don't know how long Reed will be in the ICU.
In addition to the cost of gas, Reed's therapist says he needs an iPad to communicate, since his brain is still healing and he can't speak. There's a way for him to communicate through the iPad.
If anyone has a few bucks to spare, I know Pammy would appreciate it, and I know getting that iPad will help give Reed some independence back. Today is his 19th birthday and he's spending it in the ICU, unable to speak, suffering tremendous pain and loss of function.
