Holidays are supposed to be a happy and joyous time of the year; however, due to the negligence of one individual a whole family's life was destroyed. Reed Morton, a loving father and grandfather was struck by a vehicle and unfortunately passed away. The driver of the car was uninsured.
On Friday, December 2nd, at a Christmas Tree Lighting in the small town of Rustburg VA, Reed was there to support two of his grandsons in the Rustburg High School Band who was playing for this event and to enjoy the tree lighting. One of those grandsons lived with him and was being raised by him. One of his daughters, Tamara, was living with him and he was helping to take care of her. She also witnessed this and is suffering from Survivors Guilt.
At the age of 16 Tamara was diagnosed with 2 brain tumors. After 2 surgeries she was cancer free but her eyesight was tremendously affected. Due to her eyesight problems she has never been able to obtain a driver's license. She depended on her Daddy to take her where she or her son needed to go. ( In addition, her son, the grandson Reed was raising has several medical issues. Due to these issues he is on numerous medications).
In addition to being so disraught over losing her Daddy, Tamara and her son is now facing the possibility of being homeless. She draws a very small disability check and the house they live in was being paid for by her Daddy. We have created this GoFund Me Page in hopes of helping her and her son remain in this home. Any donation during this time of need will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you and May God bless you all.
