Reed Family Healing Fund

In the last 6 months our family has been hit hard- from Chelsie experiencing a health collapse and resigning from her work as a pastor, to Kevin, Kyra, and Nora being 50ft from an active shooter in a park in New York City and having to run for their lives as 2 bystanders were shot. These and more have put our family in a crisis state and needing community and family support more than ever before.

While we have done our best to focus on healing and restoring a sense of safety, Nora and Kyra continue to experience PTSD and Chelsie continues to face deepening health needs connected to her autoimmune disorder. It’s no surprise that this has created significant medical bills that came as we experienced a loss of income. We have done our best, but have reached the end of our resources and are facing the reality of credit card debt becoming a part of our life for the first time.

Knowing that is a slippery slope, and realizing that many people in our community are unaware of all our family has been facing this year, we are sharing this and asking for support in whatever way you are able to offer it. We know there are so many amazing people who love us and would help if they knew we needed help.

We are so grateful for our friends and family who have been a critical support these last several months- driving Chelsie to appointments, play dates for Kyra and Nora, cooking meals, sitting together, going on walks, praying, sending messages checking in, or listening over coffee.
For those who are able and feel compelled to help financially, we are in need of help this way.

Our current needs:
 $1,826 in unpaid medical bills
$3,270 currently known ongoing monthly medical costs

These monthly medical expenses include medication, various (many) therapies, individual counseling for each of us as well as marriage counseling, appointment costs to see specialists, and working with a comprehensive health consultant at the Nashville Autoimmune Center starting in August.
This number is in flux, but likely conservative for added appointments, therapies, and tests over the coming months. It is, however, a number that fully exceeds our monthly income.

Every person reading this understands the humility that comes with asking for help, and the struggle against shame and embarrassment. We know we are loved, and that those who love us need to know when we are hurting. We have been cared for so well many times before, and we hope to be reciprocators of that care.

Thank you for all forms of love and support for our family,
Kevin, Chelsie, Kyra, & Nora Reed
