Reece's 10km journey! Run, laugh and celebrate!
Hi everyone,
My name is Reece, and I’m 15 years old. This year, I’ve decided to take on a big challenge: running my very first 10km race at Hampton Court Palace on 11 May 2025. I’m not just running for myself - I’m running for two very special reasons.
First, I’m raising money for Undershaw Education Trust, the specialist school that I attend. Undershaw has made a huge difference in my life. It’s a place where I’m supported, understood, and encouraged to be the best version of myself. The teachers and staff go above and beyond every day to help students like me learn and grow in a way that works for us. I want to give something back to the school that’s given me so much.
Second, I’m running in memory of my Aunty Taz. Just a month ago, she suddenly and unexpectedly passed away while running a half marathon. Aunty Taz was a huge inspiration to me in doing this race. She was kind, strong, and full of love. She loved running and helping others. We all miss her deeply and I know she would be cheering me on every step of the way. Aunty taz celebrated the people in our lives that had passed away by hosting a meal where everyone attended wearing pink and that is why I am wearing pink on the day.
I’ve been training hard for this 10km - it’s going to be tough, but I’m determined to do it. With every mile I run, I’ll be thinking of Aunty Taz and all the amazing people at Undershaw.
I am running the race with my dad who has been the biggest support to me every step of the way.
If you’re able to donate, no matter how small, it would mean the world to me. Every penny raised will go to Undershaw to support more students like me. And I’ll be running with all my heart - for my school, for my family, and for Aunty Taz.
Thank you so much for your support.
Love,
Reece
