This is a campaign to raise emergency funds to help the Reece family.  Cliff and Lindsay Reece and their two sons, Brandon and Caleb, recently incurred and continue to incur substantial medical bills because of a catastrophic medical emergency experienced by Cliff at the beginning of the year.  

     After suffering a fall at home and hitting his head, Cliff was admitted to the local hospital for low blood pressure, dehydration and most concerning, a severe thiamine deficiency that resulted in brain damage severe enough to cause weakness and pain in his extremities, mental confusion and difficulty with speech.   As a result, Cliff spent an entire month at Kennestone hospital undergoing tests and experiencing a frightening list of medical emergencies and problems not the least of which involved a serious staff infection, sepsis, vascular surgery, and a blood transfusion.  Even today,  two and a half months later, he continues to suffer severe neuropathy in his legs resulting in a great deal of pain and the need for a walker or cane to get around.  Even with assistance he remains a fall risk meaning  that he is essentially disabled.   Additionally, his ongoing medical issues will require weeks of extensive physical, occupational and speech therapy, as well as continued follow up doctor appointments with numerous specialists.

       As a result of Cliff's hospitalization, ongoing medical needs and inability to work, Lindsay has missed a great deal of work herself and must continue to take off  to take Cliff to his numerous weekly therapy and doctor appointments.   Although Lindsay has been  blessed with donated time from her generous coworkers, she still finds herself unable to work enough hours to cover all of their family's expenses.  At the advice of Cliff's doctors Lindsay has undertaken the process of filling out disability paperwork, but anticipates that it will be some time before they receive a response.  

     This campaign has been created in an effort to help the Reece family meet their most pressing needs, medical expenses and mortgage payments, until they can secure more permanent financial assistance.  Your generous contribution will make a difference in their ability to survive this terrible crisis.  Please join with me in helping this family get back on their feet.
