Thousands of women suffer from the effects of trauma in Northern Uganda.
We are raising money to bring much needed support to these women and girls, who are war victims, victims of domestic violence, and teenage mothers.
WHO WE ARE
African Women and Girls Organisation for Total Knowledge- Uganda, Ltd. (AWAGO )—The Women's Transcendental Meditation Organization in Uganda
We have been working with vulnerable women for over 8 years in Kampala, the capital city of Uganda, to help women reduce stress and develop the empowerment to create a better life for themselves. We teach women the scientifically proven, secular-based Transcendental Meditation® (TM®) technique, which has been shown to have a wide range of benefits for mind, body, and behaviour. Benefits include: decreased debilitating effects of trauma, stress and anxiety, as well as improved health, and increased resilience, creativity and self-confidence.
IMPROVING LIVES FOR WOMEN AND GIRLS IN UGANDA.
For over 50 years the TM technique has been taught around the world to people of all ages and from all walks of life. Here in Uganda and throughout the world, our programs have helped millions of women and girls develop greater personal fulfillment and well-being.
Through the regular practice of TM, we have helped women and girls develop their natural capacity to rise out of anxiety and despair, creating greater stability and peace inside themselves—which naturally radiates out to their family and community. We help them to improve their quality of life by developing *empowerment from within!
HOW YOU CAN HELP
We are currently partnering with Merciful Doctors in Northern Uganda to offer the first phase of an initiative to teach TM to 100s and even 1000's of women. In our first phase we will teach 400 women who have signed up for our programs and are pending support!
Your contribution will allow us to provide training in TM plus follow-up for one year, including the costs for our TM teachers to make several trips from Kampala to Northern Uganda over the course of the year. Our goal is also to begin to train TM teachers in Arua to sustain this important work.
Thank you for giving generously today!
To help us get the word out, you can share our link to your Facebook timeline and ask others to do the same! Every small amount adds up!!!
