At the end of August, while working in Abilene, I contracted the flu, which unfortunately exacerbated into pneumonia while struggling to relocate on the weekends back home in San Angelo. The damage to my left lung appears permanent, causing long-term respiratory issues.

In and out of emergency rooms, urgent care visits, and local visits with my PCP, ENT, and Gastroenterologist have now revealed another diagnosis.

While sick, my coughs were so violent, I began coughing up stomach acid, hyper-activating my larynx to randomly close, preventing my stomach contents from coming up. This is referred to as Laryngopharyngeal Reflux.

I now suffer from frequent Laryngospasms throughout the day that cause my throat to completely close for up to 2 minutes, leaving me breathless and at times incapacitated, passing out from a lack of oxygen.

I'm struggling to pay for my previous medical visits after relocating my daughters and me while anticipating an upcoming Upper GI Endoscopy with an estimated cost of $1085.

At this point, anything would be helpful in reducing my medical debt as I attempt to treat my new chronic throat issues.
