Reduce Bleu's Vet Bill

A couple of months ago, our Bleu damaged his cruciate ligament, which required surgery as it had ruptured.

Unfortunately, by the time he went to have the op, they discovered both legs had ruptured! ☹️ The newest one was operated on first, as it was causing Bleu the most pain.

The surgery was a TPLO (Tibial Plateau Levelling Osteotomy), and Bleu was taken to a highly recommend osteopathic surgeon to perform it.

Each leg costs £2150 to operate.

He has yet to have the other one done, but this could only happen once the first one heals, approximately 3 months after a successful surgery. But sadly, this wasn't the to be.

Bleu suffered a few complications after surgery, with a lot of bleeding and swelling, causing him pain and discomfort and his family filled with worry.

A check up appointment revealed his meniscus is now torn and now the same leg requires more intervention before the second leg can even be operated on.

At the moment, all that can be done are heat and cold pads for the swelling, massages, careful exercise (3 or 4, 5 min walks a day) and mild physio.

All of this takes time, and Bleu's family are doing their best to support him and give him the best chance considering the situation.

Bleu's prognosis is still good and should go on to lead a happy dog life doing what all dogs do, playing, exploring, cuddling and being a goofball!

He was adopted at 8 weeks old, and is now 18 months. He still has his whole life ahead of him!

He's a big dog but he’s soft and sweet. He loves to go between your legs for a butt scratch, nearly knocking people over as he’s too tall.

He takes everything in his stride and so laid back basically just a big teddy bear. He loves all other dogs and is always looking out for his doggie family, and he misses them now he is separated to help with pain management.

With all operations considered, travel, medication, x-rays, believe it or not, £5000 doesn't even cover it all.
