Red Star Brass is a professional chamber music ensemble residing in Chicago, IL. On July 30, we will be headed to California for a residency at the Cazadero Music Camp ! Red Star will be performing a full recital for the entire camp as well as coaching sectionals and assisting in rehearsals. The Cazadero Music Camp shares a similar mission in reaching out to the next generation of musicians and fostering growth both on and off the instrument while having fun every step of the way. We are excited to work with both the staff and students!
Additionally, while in California, Red Star Brass will perform in local Bay Area venues to premiere our concert, "Location Politics, An Evening of Brass". This concert will include:
- A West Coast Premiere of "Quintet No. 1: Chicago" by composer Joe Clark
- A world premiere by composer Kate Pukinskis
- A new arrangement of "Bade Saba for Flute Trio and Film" by composer Sahba Aminikia, arranged by Joe Clark
-David Sampson's "Morning Music"
We need your help to make all of these wonderful opportunities a reality! Our expenses amount to:
-$1500 for flights
-$500 for a van rental for the week
-$200 for gas
-$800 for the new compositions and arrangements
