The Redhawk Robotics Team from the High School for Construction Trades, Engineering & Architecture has earned a spot at the 2025 FIRST World Championship in Houston, TX, taking place from April 15 to April 20!
We qualified for this prestigious event by winning the Engineering Inspiration Award at the Hudson Valley Regional this year. This award recognizes teams that have made a monumental impact in their school, community, and beyond by spreading STEM education as far as possible. Our team has worked on engineering outreach projects in Ecuador and the Philippines and is actively expanding our impact locally, nationally, and globally. Our journey isn’t stopping anytime soon—we are committed to inspiring the next generation of STEM leaders worldwide!
How Your Contribution Helps
We are raising funds to cover travel, lodging, meals, and competition expenses for up to 30 students and 5 mentors so we can proudly represent our school and community on the world stage. Your donation will help cover:
✅ Transportation & Flights to Houston
✅ Hotel & Lodging for the team
✅ Meals & Daily Expenses for students
✅ Registration Fees for the competition
✅ Team Equipment & Supplies needed for the event
Attending the FIRST World Championship is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for many of our students. Every dollar you contribute brings us one step closer to Houston!
Here's what the judges had to say
The Engineering Inspiration Award celebrates outstanding success in advancing respect and appreciation for engineering within a team’s school or organization, and community. Inspiring others to respect science and technology requires passion, knowledge and commitment, and we recognize these qualities through this award.
Soaring to new heights, this team fosters and inspires future generations of FIRST participants, ensuring that STEM opportunities take flight. Whether in their local community or reaching across borders, they lead initiatives that help grow and transform STEM education for all. Spreading their wings, they swoop into action with impactful missions, uplifting underrepresented teams and advocating for a future where robotics has no limits.
Congratulations Team 8739!
