Redevelop a neighborhood park for FBI Agent Laura

FBI Special Agent Laura Schwartzenberger is a hometown hero whose life was tragically taken early in the morning on February 2, 2021, while performing her duties to keep All children safe- a job she was passionate about as a member of the Violent Crimes Against Children Task Force.
A Mom, a Wife, a Sister, a Aunt, a Godmother, a Friend, a Volunteer, and a Mentor- the family of Laura Schwartzenberger and the "For the Love of Laura" Committee would like to honor and memorialize the heroism of this great lady by redeveloping a park in her name.
For the Love of Laura Committee is raising funds to honor her life and her sacrifice by creating a safe and inclusive playground in the community Laura grew up in and redeveloping her neighborhood park where she grew up and enjoyed playing as a child.
Laura's childhood home is Pueblo, Colorado, and the Committee has petitioned Pueblo City Council to rename the park "Laura's Park". Funds raised would replace the old metal playground equipment that is over 40 years old with new, all-inclusive playground. In addition to greater accessibility for wheelchairs, it would provide multisensory play experiences, develop motor skills, physical strength and cognitive functioning. It would offer quiet spaces that stimulate senses for our children with autism or sensory integration disorders. This playground would allow All children to play together, regardless of physical differences or other challenges. Other outdoor improvement such as benches, picnic tables, a special tree, and a memorial board display honoring Laura would be added to truly make this Laura's Park. Additionally, this park is across from Brookdale Senior Assisted Living and will allow adults of varying ages and abilities to actively engage with their children, grandchildren, friends and family.
Our goal is to create a living legacy "For the Love of Laura" that our community will treasure and enjoy with their children as demonstrated by Laura's passion and ultimate sacrifice in keeping All our children safe.
