Right now there are over 500,000 homeless people in America.
Human Trafficking has turned into a $32 billion industry with over 300,000 children sold in to sex slavery every year.
20 million Americans suffer from drug or alcohol abuse.
On average, there are 123 suicides in America per day.
These are just some of the issues that are plaguing our communities today.
And these are the issues that Redemption in Motion is dedicated to change.
At RIM it's all about one thing - bringing HOPE to the hopeless.
This is way more than a business to me - it's a gospel-centered mission to bring light to people who have been living in darkness.
I've always felt this urge inside of me to help those who are in need but I never really knew how. It's so easy for me to drive past a street corner and see people asking for money and pretend that I don't see them. Quite honestly, I hate that I see so many people in need and I just turn a blind eye. That's why I've started this business. So many people need help in one way or another and so many of us are able to help and yet we choose not to, including myself. It's my hope that Redemption in Motion will change that. It's my hope that we can put to rest the stigmas against things like drug addiction, porn addiction and mental health. There are so many people out there who are feeling hurt, lost and hopeless.
This is my vision for Redemption in Motion - to spread awareness of social issues that are impacting our communities today while being rooted in the hope that has been given to us through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The way we plan on doing that is by launching an online store that sells graphic T-shirts that are designed with simplicity, creativity and intentionality.
So what sets us apart?
It is our goal to team up with individuals who have been affected by one of these issues (Homelessness, Sex Trafficking, etc) and come up with designs that are from the heart of someone who has gone through it. Through a "co-designing"process we hope to create shirt designs that speak about the hope that comes from Christ - especially in the darkest of times. As a way of spreading awareness, we want to share their story in connection with the shirt that they have co-designed.
We will offer 3 different collections for our customers:
"Story Collection" - Shirts co-designed with people who have first hand experience with these issues.
"Gospel Collection"- Shirts with creative designs of scripture and the gospel.
"RIM Collection" - Shirts with our brand.
Imagine how many people you walk past on a weekly basis. Imagine one of your friends or coworkers seeing your shirt and asking you, "Hey what's that about?" THIS is what we want. Conversation about these issues is where is starts. Conversations about depression, about suicidal thoughts, about the gospel and how it can transform lives. Talking about these things is vitally important if we want to change and impact our communities and the world.
But the T-shirts are just the beginning...
25% of profits will go to local organizations that are working diligently to restore the broken hearted. They are the ones who work one on one with people who are struggling and they are always in need of more donations in order to better serve these individuals.
I am so excited to make this happen. I believe in Redemption in Motion and I believe in the people we are serving.
But in order for us to make this happen we need a few things to get it started:
1. Money
This is the obvious one. The main things that we need to pay for right now include:
- First batch of printed shirts
- Website/Domain
- Packaging material
- Business software
- Graphic Designer payment
- Marketing
I am working with a local video production company, Lionheart Pictures, to put together a short video explaining what this company is and why we want to make this happen. I plan on using this video for my Kickstarter account. It is my hope that we raise the majority of our funds on Kickstarter but we need the video first, which means we need money for that video.
I was calculating everything we need to start off with and (shocker) it's a lot of money. Every penny helps.
2. Branding/Marketing

Please pray that this company works out and that lives are changed because of it. It has never been my intention to makes loads of money off of this and I don't think that I ever will and that's okay with me. If we bring hope to one person during this whole thing then it's all been worth it to me.
I have never felt so passionate about something before. I feel like God has put this on my heart for a good reason and I think this is the first step in making it a reality.
