Redd's Recovery

Hi, I am Meg Redd's Sister.

Redd was involved in a major workplace accident on Monday April 29, 2024. He was loading a trailer on to his flat bed and as he was doing so the unit came off the rails, rolled off the flatbed and pinned him. This caused crush injuries to his mid section including fractures to his spine, fractures through his tail bone, breaks in his pelvis and internal bleeding. He was transported first to the Tooele hospital and then, because of the severity of his injuries, he was transported to the University of Utah Hospital which is a Level 1 trauma center.

Redd has had surgeries to stop the internal bleeding and to repair and stabilize the fractures in his pelvis and spine. He has also had multiple procedures over the last two weeks to deal with continuing internal complications due to the injury and the surgeries afterwards. Because of the injuries to his pelvis Redd is non load bearing on both of his legs for at least the next 6 weeks, at that time he will have to learn to walk again and require extensive physical therapy to get him back to where he was before the accident. Needless to say, it will be quite some time before he will be able to return to work.

Redd is an independent contractor / Truck driver and though he was carrying "Occupational Hazard" insurance they are not sure how much, if anything it will cover and it is going to take time to sort out. In the mean time, their little family needs some help.

Kristen, Redd's wife, asked me to set up this account for Redd and their family to help with both household and medical expenses while Redd recovers. This will help cover their mortgage, bills and the payment on Redd's truck and trailer while he is unable to work.
