This is "RED", our family dog we inherited after my son passed away a few years ago.... He stays with my mother who is 70+ and on a limited budget. He has proven to be a great companion for her and is unreplaceable for that reason... On 03/12/20 he was involved in an incident and sustained serious injuries to his paws and legs after he was dragged several miles underneath a propane delivery truck, which had delivered fuel to my mom's house... Red's was attached to his steel cable that was broken after his harness caught on something under the truck as it left... It was a miracle he wasn't killed.
The company that owns the propane delivery truck has paid $0.00 dollars towards his recovery and only proposed a barter deal which I thought was unacceptable due to the amount of veterinary cost, which has totaled $19,864.00 to date with more follow-up visits to come.
We are now asking for donations to help to pay back most of what we have borrowed in order to save our dogs life. Any donation you can give is absolutely appreciated.
DIAGNOSTIC FINDINGS: Severe degloving injuries on all four extremities and cranial aspect of both stifles (road rash on right hind)
PROBLEMS/DIAGNOSES:
1. Severe degloving injuries after being drug by a truck
-large laceration/degloving injury over the left stifle--debrided and closed over JP drain 3/13/2020, drain removed 3/17/20
-large dorsal degloving injury to the left carpus that extends into the joint capsule-debrided and bandages placed
-degloving injuries to toes on right fore and hind limbs-debrided and bandages placed
2. Mild anemia
3. Mild thrombocytopenia
4. Hypoproteinemia
As of 4/10/2020: Red is healing well, but still has a long road to recovery, please help and share as much as possible.
