FILM LOGLINE:
Shelly, a middle-aged Doordash driver, must confront painful memories from her abusive past to help a houseless veteran.

Based on true events.

WE ARE VERY PROUD TO ANNOUNCE:

We've partnered with the Georgia Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Georgia’s federally recognized domestic violence coalition, representing over 53 domestic violence organizations and programs across the state.

We've formed a collaboration with Partnership Against Domestic Violence, the largest non-profit domestic violence organization in the state of Georgia providing professional, compassionate, and empowering support to battered women and their children in metro Atlanta.
(PADV is in desperate need of diapers, wipes, and feminine products for the women and children they serve.)

MORE COLLABORATIONS TO COME!!

AWARD-WINNING MUSICIAN ATTACHED TO FILM:
I'm so pleased to announce that Michelle Malone will have some gorgeous music in the film. This is what she said about our collaboration: "I’m so honored to have songs in this film. Please consider supporting my friend, Jennifer Galm, in her work to document those who are most vulnerable in our society. Their stories deserve to be heard."

Mission Statement
This film intends to give a voice to those who struggle with homelessness and/or domestic violence, spur community connection, and offer healing for those with similar life experiences.

Writer's Statement
Jennifer K Galm “This story is based on my experiences as a domestic violence survivor and the homelessness that resulted. I hope that sharing my story will help survivors and those who struggle with safe housing to find community.”

Jennifer K Galm is a writer and filmmaker based in Atlanta, Georgia. Her creative background is in journalism and arts management. Two years ago, she transitioned to screenwriting and found early success when her first screenplay Dandelion earned a Quarter-Finalist rating at the Atlanta Film Festival Screenwriting Competition. Besides preparing to film the short Red Sneakers, she has two screenplays in development, a fantasy tv pilot and a thriller feature film.

Director's Bio

Carrie Schrader is a filmmaker who tells Shero underdog stories. She wrote and directed the feature-length documentary, The Founders and directed the short film, Don’t Mess with Texas, by Ethan Coen (Coen Brothers). She has directed spots for Netflix and AMC, and has participated in the Orchard Project Episodic Lab, the Outfest Screenwriting Lab, and IFP, and placed at the Austin Film Festival. She was named one of the “Top Ten Directors to Watch Out For" by IndieWire.com. She was recently hired to write two feature-length films and her television pilot has just attached a showrunner! She is the actress/creator of #nicewhitemom satire videos, which take a comical look at how white women perpetuate racism. Carrie has a very expensive but surprisingly useful MFA in directing from Columbia University, and will be forever-proud of her early days as a theater nerd.

Inclusion Statement
Domestic violence and homelessness are often linked and affect people from all walks of life. Immunity from this social ailment is a privilege most cannot afford. This film intends to have characters and crew who mirror some of the most vulnerable: veterans, LGBTQ+ persons, people of color, and women escaping domestic abuse.
