RED PILL MAN Web Series!!!!!

Hi, my name is Chris Bostrom, and I'm creating a web series called RED PILL MAN. It's a dark comedy musical about an impressionable young man who gets seduced into an extremist online community of Men's Right's Activists, and all the ways that affect his life and everyone he knows.
The above video will detail much more about what the series is about, as well as explain the subject matter- but basically, Men's Rights Activists(MRAs) are a group that tends to think gender and society roles peaked in the 1950s, and they oppose feminism and equality-minded movements. A small number of them may have legitimate concerns about men's issues, but the vast majority of them are a toxic, misogynistic sort.
They tend to prey on and grift younger men into their community, warping their minds(and getting them to give away their money) without really benefiting their lives or improving them as people. So my web series is about one such man who falls into this community. It's also about broader issues of isolation, loneliness, and self-esteem- all in this reasonably new internet culture we find ourselves in, where more and more people find their morals and identities being guided by who they interact with online.
I have worked so hard on researching the subject matter, writing the scripts and the music, seeking out a marvelous cast and crew, and so much more- and I've loved it all. I've been working in the film industry since 2008, and this is the most important project I've been a part of, and the one I'm most passionate about. This isn't just something I want to do; this is something I need to do. And I'm so excited to move it forward.
But I've taken things about as far as I can without a budget- and so for the next step, I need to raise as much money as I possibly can to bring this series to life. Here are the things I will use this budget for:
Equipment- I am very fortunate to have some close friends lending me some of this, but there is a lot I still need to rent or buy, including a sound mixer/dedicated audio recorder, microphones, filters, and lights.
Cast/Crew- I have some great people who love the idea of this series(and also just want to help me out :)) who have already signed on, but I want to give them as much of a payment for their hard work as I can. Generally, people in the industry make about $19.00/hour, but I would like to get them that much, at least.
Production Insurance- You have to take care of your people and equipment, and I want this to be a professional environment. Production Insurance varies but is generally in the $2,000-$3,000 range for this type of project.
Forming An LLC- I need to create a production company and have all the legal protections required. It costs $90 altogether to make an official LLC.
Recording Studio- I have the equipment to plug in and record my musical instruments at home, and have done that part for most of the songs already, but I need to go to the studio to have a sound-proofed room to record the singing. The places I'm looking at are around $75-$100 an hour.
Location Rentals- Since we will only film some of this in my or other people's apartments, some locations, like bars, offices, and shops, will need to be rented out. I've done lots of research, and many of these places (or studios made to look like them) can be rented for between $100-$150 per hour.
Catering- A well-fed cast and crew is a happy cast and crew! We won't be filming for more than 8 hours a day, but that means we will all need to eat one meal and have snacks, fruits, coffee, water, etc., around each day to keep the good people of this project nourished. That will come to about $12-$16 a person.
Script Copyright- This ensures, just like it says, that the script is copyrighted. That costs $65.
Film Festivals- Once it's complete, I want to get it out to as many people as possible- and specifically have other people who work in the industry see it. This way, we might get picked up by a studio, get new seasons funded, and showcase all the hard work our cast and crew will do, so that they may get more jobs and connections. Submissions to festivals are on average $50, and I have a goal to submit to at least 20 of them.
- There are bonuses for contributing!
Depending on the level you donate at, there are some cool perks and rewards, including-
A Cameo With A Speaking Line In The Series- The first person to either donate $5,000(or the highest contributing donor) will be offered a small role with a speaking line in an episode! Obviously, you will either have to live in Los Angeles, or be okay with traveling here, but otherwise a fun little role will be yours!
Getting To Choose The Name Of The Company The Characters Work At- The first person to donate $3,000(or the second highest contributing donor) will get to choose the name of the company where the characters work. There will be some restrictions(like calling it a company that already exists, anything too offensive, etc), but you can name it most anything you like!
A Copy Of The Script Signed By The Cast And Crew- The first ten people to donate $1,000(or the third-twelfth highest contributing donors) will receive the script for the entire series, autographed by all the main cast and crew members!
A Special Thank You In The Credits- Regardless of what you contribute, you will receive a credit in the "Special Thanks" section of each episode!
A Reward That You Choose- This one is up for discussion, but perhaps you want to contribute a certain amount for a reward you think would be cool- maybe you want to donate $500 to choose the type of drink the characters have in a scene, or something like that- feel free to send me a message and we can talk about it!
Well, there you have it! I am so excited to make this series. I cannot thank you enough for anything you donate to help me create this. It means so much to me, and I promise to make this the most amazing, fun and meaningful web series that is humanly possible for it to be. Thank you, so very, very much,
Chris
