Hello you,
My name is Obadiah, and I've had the honor of being Rediet's partner for the past 3 years. If you've had the opportunity to know her—or even have a conversation with her—then you know it's no small fortune to be familiar with even a fraction of her brilliance.
Over these years I've experienced genuine, unfettered joy and awe having the opportunity to share life with someone so thoughtful, creative, generous, and loving as Rediet. She's constantly standing in the corner of everyone in her community. If you've ever needed to rely on Rediet, you know she's got your back!
Now we've got to have hers. In July, Rediet went to the ER with concerning symptoms that marked internal bleeding. After an endoscopy, doctors found a large mass at the junction of her stomach and esophagus—and after a biopsy, it was found to be cancerous. Doctors were as shocked as we were. At 27, Rediet faced something most people wouldn't face until over twice her age.
Rediet has been an absolute champ since then. She continues to find levity in her life and still creates joy in others, as she does so well. No obstacle is greater than her! Some are greater than her insurance, though. While it is covering plenty of costs, we recently learned that there are many it won't cover.
She will be out of work for many months undergoing chemotherapy and major surgery. The funds you donate will help cover the costs of food, rent, and medical bills for the duration of her medical leave from work.
Anything you are able to give is appreciated. If you are unable to give money, send her some love (or food if you know how to throw down! Meal train coming soon )
Please share with your community where appropriate, and thank you so much.
