RED January for St Austell Youth Band’s competition in Hull
Donation protected
My name is Willow, I am a member of St Austell Youth brass band and I am helping our band raise money to support our trip to Hull to compete in the National Youth Brass Band Championships 2025.
As a Cornish-based band it is a long journey that involves most of two days of travel and overnight stays.
St Austell Youth won two competitions in 2024 and has nearly 30 young players between the ages of 7 and 20 !! And if one of, if not, the largest youth bands in Cornwall and is always developing new players.
Playing in competitions is a great way for young players to gain confidence by giving them the opportunity to compete and play on a stage in a major competition and we're hoping to improve on last years results.
I am attempting to run at least one mile every day in January taking inspiration from the "RED January" challenge. This is going to involve some early mornings and late nights and a run or two during my lunch breaks at college!
Friends and family have kindly offered donations and suggested I set up this page to see if others would give a small amount to add to the fundraising efforts to cover the cost of the trip.
The money raised will be used to hire coaches and arrange accommodation and other expenses for the trip. Any leftover money will be used to support the band's equipment and uniforms.
If you feel able to gift a donation please fill in the details below and thank you very much.
