Red Christmas film project

My name is Shawn Winders. I am high functioning autistic. I was diagnosed at two and half half as moderate to severly autistic. I didn’t speak and had issues with socialization. Through years of hard work and a lot of help, I have come a long way and over come many obstacles. I have always dreamed of being a film director and achieved a degree in film.

This year my original script, Red Christmas, was accepted into the Orlando Independent Film Makers Film Festival! I am thrilled to be directing my first short film and one that I wrote!

Here is where I need help. I am trying to do this with no budget. I am having trouble with my crew, as many can’t afford to take the time off for filming and I have no money to pay my cast and crew. I have already spent my entire savings buying props and costumes.

I realize that life is hard for many. I am just hoping if enough people can donate a small amount (or whatever amount you are able), that I can make my film happen. As the saying goes, “Many hands make light work”. If you can donate even 5 or 10 dollars and share this then maybe someone else can do the same and so on and I will have enough to complete my first film.

If I exceed my goal and I have enough money leftover after this film gets made, I will donate whatever is left to the Autism Society of America, to help another person, such as myself achieve their goals.
