Hello!! My name is Rachel Kong, a senior at Hofstra University, majoring in Film Studies and Production. I am very excited to announce our fundraising campaign for the upcoming short film RED! 

THE STORY

RED is a story about an American Chinese woman, Olivia, who has to find a way to ask her mother for financial help for herself and her newlywed husband. This simple request only spirals into more chaos as Olivia has to overcome the challenging relationship with her mother and begins to learn the secrets that are being kept from her. The story pushes the limit of a relationship between the daughter and the mother within a Chinese household, with a dynamic that still speaks to all families.

BUDGET
The total budget for this project is USD$8,500 and we are looking to raise USD$4,000 through crowdfunding. Any donations to this campaign will go strictly towards the production cost, which includes casting, locations, catering, travels, equipment rentals, etc. Anything money left over from the production will later be attributed to film festival submission fees. All donors will get a special thanks in the credits!
