Losing my uncle Marc and my father Martin within days of each other has been the most difficult experience of my life. Marc was only 49 years old and faced many health challenges, but he never let them define him. He was an amazing musician and a brilliant music teacher, always eager to share his love of music with others. His intelligence and wit made every conversation memorable, and his passion for teaching inspired so many people around him.
Martin was Marc’s devoted caretaker, helping him with everything from meals to daily care, showing a level of love and dedication that was truly remarkable. After Marc passed away in his sleep, Martin fell ill and, heartbreakingly, died just two days later from cirrhosis of the liver. Martin was an incredible executive chef and pit master, famous for his Texas BBQ and brisket. His laugh could light up any room, and he was deeply loved by his grandsons and everyone who knew him. The bond Marc and Martin shared was extraordinary—they supported each other through everything, and their love for one another was inspiring.
I am Radigan, Martin’s only son, and I loved my dad very much. I wish we both knew how to communicate better, but I want to remind everyone reading this to talk to your loved ones and take care of yourself. Please don’t abuse drugs and alcohol—dying may seem easy personally, but it takes a tremendous toll on the people who love you. I hope our story can serve as a mirror for others and help someone else.
I am raising funds to help cover the funeral costs, travel expenses, and to settle their estate and final wishes. This has been an overwhelming time for me as their only next of kin, and any support you can offer would mean so much. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me support my family in this moment of despair and for considering a donation or sharing this fundraiser.
