Lightening struck the Rector’s home on June 24th while Angie was at home with the kids. The kids were terrified and as Angie tried to calm them, she began to smell smoke. She got them to safety and then spent the next three hours watching the flames consume part of the roof and an amazing team of firefighters put the fire out with thousands of gallons of water pumping through the house.
The devastation inside the house is unimaginable; water, fire and smoke damage destroyed most all of their belongings. Now as they start to plan for the next days, weeks and months of rebuilding ahead, they know it will be tough and get expensive. With the twins being born premature and having ongoing pulmonary issues, it is going to be a long journey to make sure there is no residual smoke damage, toxic fumes or defects in the ventilation. They will be displaced for probably the next 6-8 months and will have exponentially more needs for food and living expenses.
Today, as their friends, family, neighborhood and community, we want to come together to help with their day to day living and food expenses and make sure they have a supplemental fund to support any and all additional costs they will have with making sure the rebuilding process is completed thoroughly with no negative impact for the boys health. Folks have asked if we have a GoFund setup, so we have created this for just that purpose. If you know Angie and Tyler, you would agree with me that they are truly the kindest people and sweetest family we know. Thank you for any support you can offer them and we thank God for showing us the power of community and togetherness through this natural disaster. Thank you truly.
