How it works:
Since September of 2019, we've hosted local letter and postcard writing events across our beautiful blue state to help (re)register voters in critical “swing states” across the country. A swing state could go blue or red, and the outcome of a swing state election is sometimes determined by a just a few thousand votes! We don’t want to wake up to the same nightmare on November 4th that we are living now! 

We write to potential voters who are often disenfranchised, and likely blue voters in BIG "swing states" like Florida and Texas.

We'd LOVE more writers (join us!) but we also need some funds to keep our work going until the November 3rd 2020 election.

Consider helping us with a donation to help us pay for postage, postcards, envelopes, paper, toner, stamps, recruitment cards, website fees–– that's a LOT of rectangles! : )

FYI: Our strategy and the math...
Currently, there are 12 swing states considered "up for grabs" by either party.
Because of the U.S. electoral college system, the winner of the Presidential election in each state will earn ALL of  the electoral college votes available in that state. 

Map math:
A candidate needs only 270  electoral college votes to win...
-If a candidate wins RI, (a blue state) they earn just 4 electoral college votes.
-If they win the swing state of Florida, they win 29 electoral college votes.
-If they win the swing state of Texas they win a whopping 38 electoral college votes!
If the Dems win Florida alone–– it's likely we'll win the Whitehouse.

Money math:
-The pre-printed vote-by-mail postcards we purchased last month were $200 for 2,000. (These will last until about May.)
-Mailing 2,000 postcards over the next two months will cost $700 in postage alone! (.35 stamps x 2,000)
