On Friday, September 22, Ashley was hit by a car while walking across Encinitas Boulevard. The driver of the car took off, and now Ashley remains in a coma in the ICU.

Ashley does not have insurance, due to a very recent lapse in coverage. She had paperwork printed out to bring into her work on Monday morning to set up her new insurance policy, and now is not covered for her current care. It is projected that she will require months of care, and the funds raised will be used to cover that care.

We are working hard to find the driver of the vehicle, along with local authorities, and we appreciate any leads to that regard. There have been multiple hit and runs in this area over the last month, and it is awful to see this epidemic happening in our close knit community.
